Are you ready to learn how to meditate and to discover more effortlessness and ease in your meditation practice? The Art of Compassion in meditation is the most elegant path to your essence, your true nature. In our personal life challenges and the collective global situation many of us are faced with stress and anxiety. Our minds are not designed for chronic stress which can create more suffering and interfere with our well-being. The art of compassion offers a process to establish a centering meditation to return to your essence; the wellspring of your unlimited potential, creativity and compassion. The art of compassion articulates mindfulness in meditation and offers tools to change emotional patterns to relieve anxiety and restore a sense of calm by creating new neural pathways. Effective meditation relieves chronic tension, regulate our nervous systems, calm reactivity, and help us to develop a gentle and compassionate relationship with ourselves over time. By returning to this nature in ourselves we can bring effective changes into our lives and have a more positive effect on the people around us. We welcome beginning meditators and seasoned meditators. When we apply mindfulness, from the state of witness or observer, we can redirect awareness to ‘let go’ during silent meditation so that we are no longer in the grip of emotions, attachments and aversions and patterns. This elegant process establishing new patterns of listening and feeling and can crack the heart open and help us to release the ways we’ve learned to close our hearts. This practice empowers students with the necessary foundation to establish a centering meditation practice. If you make the commitment to meditate daily with these tools you will unleash your potential to transform quickly. We will meet Thursdays for 5 weeks. Teachings and discussion on compassion, emotions and mindfulness and a shared meditation together will occur throughout the course. We will work with Apanasati (breath) meditation, mindfulness, as well as mantra (a tool to focus mind in the practice of effortless letting go). Compassion in mindfulness can yield an effective meditation which leads to increased clarity and focus, a reduction in stress, fear and anxiety and a sense of inner peace and kindness. Over time the more established the student becomes in practice the easier it becomes to access this in life.
